Notes for CHRISTOPHER TAPPEN: Christopher Tappen, was a Major in the Minute Men in the War of the Revolution; a member of the first, third and fourth New York State Provincial Congresses and of the State Senate in 1797-98-99. He was a brother-in-law of George Clinton and was closely associated with him during his administration as Governor of New York State and Vice-President of the United States.
